Saturday 9 December saw the playing of the 2017 Knysna Men’s Amateur Open. The weather predictions were for breezy and wet weather most of the day but, although it was cool, the conditions could not have been much better.

The main story of the day was that, for the first time, two brothers Ivan and Reagan Williams won the A and B divisions respectively. Ivan finished with a gross score of 136, 8 under par and Reagan 164. In his speech the first thing Ivan said was: “Finally!” (This was because he had been trying hard to win the title for so many years).

Knysna Golf Club’s Vice Captain Kevin Horack, who conducted the prize presentation, thanked all participants, the Club’s employees and, in particular, the grounds staff for presenting the course in such good condition. He also expressed the Club’s gratitude to the title sponsors PSG Wealth for their continued and valued support of the event
