Dress Code

Members, visitors and guests are requested to adhere to the club’s dress code.

Men may wear long or short socks with golf shorts. No rugby or bermuda shorts, jeans or collarless shirts are permitted to be worn on the golf course. In the clubhouse, shirts must have collars, golf shorts or jeans may be worn with closed shoes or sandals.

All players should familiarise themselves with Knysna Golf Club local rules, copies of which may be found on notice boards with key rules printed on the back of the score card.

The use of sand bags is compulsory to repair divots on the fairways and players are required to repair all pitch marks on the greens.

Local Rules

1.1 FLOWER BEDS:

All flower beds are treated as NO PLAY ZONES and relief must be taken under the rule 16.1b (Relief for ball in General Area)

1.2 YOUNG TREES:
Protection of trees are identified by blue stakes. If such tree interferes with a player’s stance or the area of his/her intended swing, the player must proceed under rule 16.1b (Relief for ball in General area)

1.3 ROADWAYS & PATHS:

Relief may be taken from any artificially surfaced roadway/pathway on the course which interferes with a players stance or area of his intended swing by lifting, cleaning and dropping the ball without penalty, within one club length of the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole.

1.4 PRACTICE PUTTING GREEN:

A ball coming to rest on the practice putting green behind the 18th green or to the left of the fairway must be dropped, without penalty, at the nearest point of relief or in the dropping zone adjacent to the 18th green.

1.5 HAZARD STAKES & DISTANCE MARKERS:

All stakes defining hazards are immovable obstructions.

Distance markers are movable obstructions.

2. DISTANCES:

Measured in metres to the middle of the greens.
