The Club is pleased and excited to announce that, in association with Scratch Golf, a junior development programme has been started.
A permanent short course is being set-up with tee-markers placed at a distance suitable for youngsters who are beginners. Once a certain standard is achieved, each junior can then tee-off from a greater distance.
Morten of Scratch Golf is the lead instructor and currently has about 25 juniors taking part in his regular teaching days. His instruction is not only about techniques but also etiquette on the course.
The Club charges no green fees for these sessions and with the recent decision of the Committee to waive the annual subscription for juniors we hope this initiative will encourage many youngsters to take-up our sport.
This is a unique collaboration and will develop into regular competitions within the Club and, in the future, against other Clubs.
