The annual match between the Men and Ladies section was played on Saturday 16th February, traditionally the Saturday nearest to Valentines Day.
44 members from each section played in the 22 matches. The format was better-ball with the pair scoring the higher points winning a point for their team. And to add to the camaraderie of the event both men and ladies played from the same tee – the RED.
And the result: Shirts 11.5 pts, Skirts 10.5 pts.
A really close match played in a wonderful spirit of friendship.
The trophy is a traditional Quaich originating in the Scottish highlands, where clan chiefs prized them as a token of hospitality, they have been used across Scotland for centuries as a cup of friendship.
Lady Captain Wendy du Toit presented the Quaich to Club Captain Kevin Horach and it was then filled with scottish whisky and passed around the members.
