In a bold move to encourage younger players to take up membership, Knysna Golf Club has introduced a new member category for people younger than 35. The deal, unanimously supported by members at the club’s AGM in August, offers a 50% reduced annual subscription fee, full playing rights and entitlement to other membership benefits such as a 20% discount on food and beverages.

The affiliation fee is mandatory for all playing members.

“We are proud of the fact that our club attracts a large number of retirees”, but we do want to encourage younger men and women, who have work, family or other commitments during the week, to enhance their weekend and holiday leisure time by joining our friendly, vibrant golfing community,” commented club captain Kevin Horack.

“By inviting younger members we will continue to grow our club and become an attractive venue for young families. We appreciate that, like most sports and hobbies, time and expense is an issue. This is an opportunity to welcome new faces into our well-established club”.

There are no ‘joining fees’ at Knysna Golf Club. Green fees (playing fees) are reasonably-priced and members can enjoy some of the finest golfing facilities in the Western Cape. In addition to a challenging, easily-walkable course with excellent greens and a well-stocked pro shop, the club boasts an ultra-modern clubhouse with superb bar, half-way house and changing rooms.

“We invite everyone under the age of 35 with an interest in golf, to come along and see for themselves how much we can offer – at a an affordable price,” the Captain concluded.
